Chapter One-It only takes one step to start a Journey

 Tina:Mama I need so new clothes for school most of my jeans are ripped and shirts have holes under the arms.

 Kathy:Girl they ain't nothin wrong with them clothes I taught you ta sew so get to it. Tina :Mama its embarassing to go to school with the same clothes every year!

 Kathy:Tough. Thats life lil girl. You want new clothes, then you get a job. Tina: Fine then I will!!!

 Tina:Lets see here.....umm..spa receptionist sounds good I think I will take this one.

 Tina:I got a job mama...is it alright if I go over to my friend Ivan's house? Kathy:Go on an ask your daddy girl cant you see Im watching tv?

 Tina:Daddy, can I go visit my friend? Matthew:Go head honey Im busy catching dinner now run along.

 Tina:WOW! It's just like being in a movie theatre in your living room, your house is so beautiful Ivan. Ivan: You think so Tina, this is just our beach house. It's all dad left us after the divorce though I can take you up where he lives one day.

 Tina:Um Ivan, where is your bathroom? Ivan:It's the last room downstairs to the left Tina if you need help finding it just call me and I will come down and show you.

 Tina:This is their bathroom!? Jeez it looks like something out of a palace....

 Tina:Miss Eveline I was wondering what it is you do for a living to pay for such a nice home? Eveline: Im a fashion and shoe designer, would you like to see some of my work it's right in my room over there...

 Tina:Oh wow your shoes are beautiful!!! I wish I had a pair that looked like that...Eveline: You're welcome to any pair you like Tina I have hundreds and you can have one of my old samples from last year's clothing line if you want that too.

 Tina:Thank you so much Miss Eveline I really really appreciate your gifts but I have to be heading home now its almost past curfew! Eveline: It was nice having you over Tina you're a nice young lady come back any time you want you are welcome here.

 Kathy:Where you get them fancy clothes girl you betta not been stealing from that rich family's house! Tina: What?! No mama I didn't!

 Tina:They were a gift mama his mother said if I liked the clothes and shoes I could have them Kathy: We ain't no dang charity case so we don't need expensive gifts from them snobby rich folk!Now go sit down while I cook dinner youre in the way.

 Kathy: Your daughter tell you she been getting clothes from them rich folk, they think we're some sort of charity case..

 Tina: She was just being nice daddy it was a gift... Matthew:Now Katherine, she ain't hurtin nobody let her be and have her pretty clothes, why you so ornery? Kathy:Fine, fine thats just fine and dandy I will leave it be.
